September 26th has for a number of years been designated as the Day of European Languages. In keeping with an established tradition the wealth of European diversity was evident throughout Portora.

Year 8 Pupils, or First Formers for the more traditionally minded, were treated to a breakfast of croissants and hot chocolate, afterwards to take part in a quiz with a distinctly international European flavour. They were also involved in a poster competition organized with the ArtDepartment and prizes in Euros were given to the 2 best computerized and hand-drawn posters.

Year 9 and 10 Pupils also took part in a quiz on France or Germany and the best answers were rewarded with a few Euros banknotes
